Alicante - Spain
The first LTT activity of the ICT-YES project took place in Alicante, Spain 27/11/2018-30/11/2018.
During the week, a selection of readings was made and each country proposed some authors students have to study. Participants paid attention to choose literature for young people, suggestive, adequate, authors from different countries, having the possibility to find them translated.
Modern generation of students has weak reading skills, they are digital natives. So, reading together will encourage them to read books, share their insights and opinions about reading process. This LTT activity promoted reading habits. Participation in these activities allowed students to get acknowledged with European literary heritage. All coordinators took part in two meetings in order to discuss the development of the project.
During the LTT activity from Alicante, specialists were invited to attend the meeting, to carry out workshops. Each country had an artistic presentation or performance about literary fragments, poems, introducing important people, discussing about cultural heritage, scientists, artists, musicians, politicians, teachers, and professionals from any area. Participants presented their schools, towns and countries, their literary heritage.
Taking part in workshops about cultural heritage was very interesting for all participants. They had live readings and learned about different strategies to improve writing.
Participants visited Orihuela, the birthplace of Miguel Hernandez. They worked in groups and analysed his poems, comparing different writings of famous writers from partnership countries. A photographic ride was organized about our heritage in the architecture of the city and surroundings. The best ones were awarded and an exhibition in the school was made. Participants took part in cultural trips and visited a contemporary art museum and an archaeological museum.
